مجمع القسطنطينية (الأول والثاني والثالث): انعقد مجمع القسطنطينية الأول سنة 381، ودافع عن ألوهية المسيح، وعارض الأريوسية والأبولينارية. انعقد مجمع القسطنطينية الثاني سنة 553 ودافع عن طبيعتي المسيح، وعارض الأوطاخية والمونوفيزية (الطبيعة الواحدة). انعقد مجمع القسطنطينية الثالث سنة 680 – 681 ودافع عن طبيعتي المسيح، وعارض المونوثيليتية (انظر المونوثيلية Monothelism) التي تقول بإرادة (مشيئة) واحدة للمسيح.
