هو بوجه عام تعيين الله حدوث كلِّ الأشياء. وهو قضاء أزلي، وغير متأثِّر بأيِّ شيء. وتحديدًا، هو اختيار الله منذ الأزل لأولئك الذين سيَخلُصون، ولأولئك الذين سيتم تجاوزهم ويُدانون بسبب خطاياهم (انظر Double Predestination). التعيين المسبق هو تخطيط الله ما قبل الزمان لمصير أبنائه، أي خلاص المختارين.
