عملية تدوين الوحي أو التوثيق السفري: يشير مصطلح "تدوين الوحي" إلى خطوات مجيء أي سفر كتابي إلى حيز الوجود، منذ إعلان الرب للأفكار في ذهن الكاتب، وحتى تحرير ذلك الكاتب للنصوص، وصياغته إياها بإرشاد من الروح القدس. ويشير لفظ "الوحي" [inspiration] إلى عمل الروح القدس الذي يضمن سلطة وعصمة ما يكتبه أيُّ متحدث باسم الله. تعريف آخر: عملية الكتابة التي وثَّقت الوحي اللفظي بأيدي الرسل في المخطوطات الأصلية للأسفار المقدسة تحت هيمنة الروح القدس.[39] حِفظ الله لإعلانه مكتوبًا من خلال عملية الوحي بالروح القدس.
