الكوزمولوجيا، علم الكونيات. المصطلح مشتق من الكلمة اليونانية kosmos (العالم). محاولة فهم أصل الكون وطبيعته وتاريخه اللاحق. دراسة الكون هي التي يلتقي عندها علم اللاهوت والعلم إذ أن كليهما مهتمان بفهم ما إذا كانت توجد علة أولى لوجود الكون وما إذا كان يوجد توجيه وتصميم هادف في الكون.
