الله إذ كان يَعلم أن جميع خلائقه سيسقطون في الخطية، سبق فعيَّن أن يَخلُصَ المختارون من بين الجنس الساقط، ويدين الآخرين (انظر Sublapsarianism). شكلٌ من أشكال الفكر الكالفيني، يُعلِّم بأن قضاء السقوط سَبقَ منطقيًّا قضاء الاختيار. وبذلك، يكون ترتيب أحكام الله كالتالي: 1) خَلْق البشر؛ 2) السماح بالسقوط؛ 3) خلاص البعض ودينونة البعض الآخر؛ و4) تقديم الخلاص للمختارين فحسب.
