الكلمة مشتقة من الفعل اليوناني doke. هرطقة ظهرت في القرن الأول الميلادي، تُنكر بشرية يسوع وتزعُمُ أن جسدَ المسيح كان مَظْهَرًا فقط، وليس حقيقيًا وهكذا صلْبُهُ وتألُّمُه ليسا حقيقيَّيْن. الدوسيتية هي الاعتقاد بأن ناسوت يسوع لم يكن حقيقيًّا؛ وأنه فقط بدا إنسانًا.
