تعلِّم هذه النظرية بأن الإنسان يحتفظ بقدر من الحرية يمكن من خلاله أن يتعاون مع نعمة الله. نقطة ربط بين النظرية البيلاجية والأغسطينية. تعلِّم بأن الإنسان يحتفظ بمقدار من الحرية يمكنه من خلاله أن يتعاون مع نعمة الله. الإنسان ورث خطية آدم لكن هذه الخطية تزول بمعمودية الأطفال. الإنسان قادر على التجاوب مع نعمةة الله لأنه ليس فاسدًا كليًّا، وهو قادر على قبول الإنجيل لكن نعمة الله ضرورية لتكميل عملية الفداء والتجديد.
